***As NYSC Strengthens Ties with Law Enforcement

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye, has reassured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of their safety and security while serving in the state.
Dantawaye made this commitment when the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, led the management team on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner at the Nigeria Police Command headquarters in Lokoja.
According to a statement from SP William Ovye Aya, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, the visit was part of ongoing efforts to enhance the partnership between the NYSC and the Police.

Dantawaye acknowledged the significant contributions of Corps members to community development and national progress. He emphasized that the security of Corps members remains a top priority and assured them of the Command’s unwavering support.
“The safety of Corps Members serving in Kogi State is paramount, and we will continue to collaborate with the NYSC to provide a secure and conducive environment for them,” he affirmed.
Speaking earlier, the Kogi State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, stated that the visit aimed to bolster security collaboration and ensure the well-being of Corps Members posted to the state.
Osungbohun lauded the Police for their steadfast efforts in protecting Corps members, particularly their prompt response to security concerns at the Orientation Camp in Asaya and their continued vigilance in various locations of deployment.
He expressed appreciation for the Police’s dedication, stating, “We deeply value the sacrifices of the Police Force in safeguarding Corps members and ensuring their peace of mind.”
Osungbohun further appealed to the Commissioner for increased security personnel at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Asaya, citing the prevailing security challenges in the region.
He also urged the Police Command to intensify patrols around the camp, stressing the shared responsibility of ensuring Corps members’ safety.
“With the current security landscape, we seek even greater collaboration to proactively prevent any threats to the welfare of our Corps members,” he added.
CP Dantawaye reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive security measures and assured the NYSC leadership of continued cooperation in ensuring the safety of all Corps Members in Kogi State.
