The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye, has charged newly deployed cadets from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, to be disciplined, professional, and dedicated to their duties during their attachment in the state.

According to a statement by SP William Ovye Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kogi Command, Dantawaye gave the charge while addressing the cadet attachés at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja.

The Commissioner underscored the significance of the attachment phase in the cadet training program, describing it as a crucial period for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical policing.

He urged the cadets to seize the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in law enforcement beyond the classroom. He also encouraged them to learn from both senior and junior colleagues, stressing that practical exposure would enhance their understanding of real-life policing situations.

Dantawaye emphasized the importance of professionalism and respect for human rights, advising the cadets to engage with the public responsibly and uphold the values of integrity, service, and justice.

He highlighted that the cadets had been deployed across various divisions and formations in Kogi State, where they would gain hands-on experience in criminal investigations, traffic control and management, administration, and counter-duty operations.

Assuring the cadets of the Command’s full support, CP Dantawaye encouraged them to take advantage of mentorship opportunities provided by experienced officers. He also directed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure proper supervision and guidance throughout the attachment period.

He reiterated the commitment of the Kogi State Police Command to nurturing the next generation of police officers who will uphold the core values of the force while contributing to national security and public safety.
