The Kogi State Government has announced the death of Chief Patrick Adaba, a former Deputy Governor of the state, who passed away on Monday at the age of 79. His death comes barely two weeks after that of his elder brother, Prof. Tom Adaba who died at 83
In a statement, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, expressed deep sorrow over Adaba’s passing, describing him as a visionary leader, statesman, and dedicated public servant.
Adaba served as Deputy Governor between 1992 and 1994 under the late Governor Abubakar Audu contributing significantly to the early foundation of governance in Kogi State.
Fanwo highlighted the profound impact of Adaba’s leadership and his unwavering commitment to the **progress and development** of Kogi State and Nigeria.
“His contributions to governance, his statesmanship, and his role in shaping the early days of Kogi State will never be forgotten. His passing is a great loss, not just to his family and the Ebira nation, but to the entire state and the nation.”*
On behalf of the government and people of Kogi State, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo extended heartfelt condolences to the Adaba family and all who were touched by his leadership.
