The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 Jigawa State elections, Dr. Mustapha Sule Lamido,
has called for increased government commitment to women’s education and healthcare.
In a statement on his official Facebook page marking the 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD), Lamido stressed the need for urgent and unconditional government intervention to improve women’s social and economic well-being.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I stand with women in Nigeria and beyond. As a family man and politician, I recognize the challenges our mothers and sisters face in today’s world,” he said.
He urged authorities at all levels to prioritize policies that will enhance access to quality education and healthcare for women.
Lamido also congratulated the women of Jigawa State and Nigeria on the occasion, encouraging them to remain strong and resilient in the pursuit of better lives.
