A group, Abu Ibro Network in collaboration with other groups across Kogi have canvassed for the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) to adopt Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim Idris as its sole governorship candidate in the forthcoming 2023 governorship race.
The leader of the group Honourable Shittu Idris Haruna in a statement said it was the outcome of a meeting held on Thursday by the group in conjunction with various youth organizations across kogi state.
Haruna in the Statement gave several reasons why Alhaji Idris is the ideal candidate for the next governorship election in Kogi State. According to him, in terms of capacity, affluence and influence which are fundamental tools for any election in Nigeria especially when one is contesting against the powers that be, Abubakar Idris has what it takes.

“Abubakar Idris is a Kogite, highly intelligent personality, a business tycoon that the PDP cannot afford to gamble with for any other person.
“He has what it takes to secure the future of our Children, Youths, Women and the elderly with his rich experience. Before taking the decision many group leaders took their turns to speak, prominent among them was Hon. Oluwo David Black from Kogi Central who said that the political sagacity of Alh. Ibrahim Idris the formal governor of Kogi State should never be ignored in the coming election.
“We need his maximum support to be able to wrestle power from the incumbent government in Kogi State; he has done it before for others there is nothing bad if his son contests the governorship race in Kogi State.

Hon. Abdulkadir Abubakar from Kogi West said Alh. Ibrahim Idris has no option than to release his son (Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim Idris) because the group will not accept any other person other than Alh. Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, for the sake of the party and the good people of Kogi state in the coming election.
