Gov. Okpebholo Expands Infrastructure: Inspects 36km Road Project in Edo Central

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development as he inspected the ongoing construction of the 36-kilometer Utako-Unewa-Eworah-Uromi road.
The project, aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activities, has been met with enthusiasm and gratitude from residents.
Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, Fred Itua in a statement indicated that Governor Okpebholo who led a delegation of top government officials, emphasized that his administration is focused on practical governance, ensuring that development projects directly impact the lives of Edo citizens.

“You can see the joy on the faces of the people. We are happy that the people we are serving appreciate what we do, and we will continue to do more. This road will open up the area for economic development and growth. We want the people to feel the impact of true governance,” the governor stated.
In addition to the Utako-Unewa-Eworah-Uromi road, the governor also inspected Anko road and Udomi Primary School, both of which are at various stages of completion.
Residents Hail Development Efforts
Residents and business owners in the affected communities expressed their appreciation, noting that past administrations had neglected the area.
Larha Fanel, a Benue State indigene residing in the area, praised the governor for his commitment, while Madam Alice Ojeifoh from Udomi emphasized that the new road would boost economic activities and improve their quality of life.
“This road was abandoned for years, but Governor Okpebholo has remembered us,” she remarked.

The project’s contractor, Michael Rezk, highlighted that the road would connect eight communities and is expected to be completed within two years.
“We have started work on the concrete drainage system, followed by laterite, and soon we will move to the stone base and asphalt stages,” he explained.
