The Northern Senators Forum has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni, a former military leader and politician, whose contributions to Nigeria’s growth and unity have left an indelible mark on the nation.

In a statement released on Friday by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, Chairman of the Forum, he described General Useni as a true patriot who dedicated his life to the service of the country.
“As a military officer, Useni earned recognition for his bravery, rising to prominence within the ranks for his contributions during times of national significance.

“Beyond his military career, General Useni also left a lasting legacy in the political landscape, having served as a Senator in the 8th National Assembly representing Plateau South Senatorial District.
“Throughout his political tenure, he was known for his integrity, strong advocacy for national unity, and his ability to champion the interests of the people he represented.

In their tribute, members of the Northern Senators Forum expressed that General Useni’s wisdom and leadership would be deeply missed, acknowledging that his counsel had played a pivotal role in shaping many important decisions within the Senate.

The Forum also extended its condolences to General Useni’s family, friends, and all who were touched by his exemplary life.

“His life and legacy will serve as a constant reminder of the importance of selfless service and the spirit of patriotism that guided his every action,” the statement concluded.

General Useni’s passing marks the loss of a respected figure, whose impact on both the military and political spheres will continue to be felt for generations to come.
