Kogi East Gets Economic Boost as Senator Echocho Launches Modern Market Project
In a bold move to revitalize commerce in Kogi East, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho has launched the construction of ultra-modern market shops in Dekina, heralding a new era of economic transformation for the region.
The project, flagged off in Dekina town, is part of a broader initiative to modernize major markets across Kogi East. This development is designed to provide traders with world-class facilities, boost entrepreneurial activities, and stimulate local economies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senator Echocho, represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Mikail Ibrahim, emphasized his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and empowering businesses in the region. He also announced plans to expand the number of shops in Dekina to accommodate more traders and create additional economic opportunities.
Once completed, the market infrastructure will be handed over to local governments for efficient management and sustainable revenue generation, ensuring long-term benefits for the communities.
Hon. Rashidat Abdullahi, Vice Chairman of Dekina Local Government, representing Chairman Hon. John Urah Ikani, commended the Senator’s visionary leadership and offered prayers for the success of the project.
Traditional rulers, including HRH Alhaji Hussaini Ismail Ejih, Achema and District Head of Dekina, were present to show their support. He represented the Ejeh of Dekina, emphasizing the importance of the initiative in uplifting local commerce.
