Grief and Solidarity: NBA, Propcom, JISOP Mourn Jigawa Governor Over Double Tragedy

In a wave of heartfelt condolences, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), international development agency Propcom+, and the Jigawa State Social Protection Platform (JISOP) have united to mourn with Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State following the devastating loss of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.

The NBA’s Dutse Branch, in a statement signed by its chairman, Mustapha Mohammed Kashim, Esq., described the deaths as a profound test of faith, urging the governor to draw strength from his unwavering belief in Allah. The association acknowledged the late Hajiya Maryam’s exemplary life and the untimely demise of Abdulwahab as trials that elevate faith and resilience.

Propcom+, an international agency implementing climate-smart agricultural programs in Nigeria, expressed its sympathy through a letter signed by its country representative, Dr. Adiya Ode.
The agency emphasized the tragic timing of the losses and praised the late Hajiya Maryam’s legacy, which undoubtedly shaped the governor’s leadership. It also described Abdulwahab as a promising young man whose death leaves a void.

Similarly, JISOP, in a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Shuaibu Musa Kafin-gana, extended prayers for the departed souls, describing their loss as a heavy blow to the governor’s family and the people of Jigawa State.

All three organizations prayed for the eternal rest of the deceased in Al Jannatul Firdausi and sought divine strength for the governor, his family, and the entire state to endure the grief.

The overwhelming outpouring of support highlights the governor’s strong personal and political ties, as well as the collective mourning of the Jigawa people over this tragic double loss.
