The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has called on Governor Usman Ododo to disclose the full details of the state’s workforce and wage bill, emphasizing that transparency in these areas is essential for public trust and accountability.

In a statement released by the state publicity secretary, the party criticized the current administration for its lack of transparency, liking the governance in the state to that of a “secret agency.”
The PDP expressed concern over the limited information available to citizens about key financial decisions affecting their lives.

“The people of Kogi State deserve clarity on how their government manages financial resources,” Aruwa said.
“Governor Ododo must provide an accurate account of the total workforce and wage bill. Such information is vital for ensuring that public funds are being used responsibly and for the benefit of all citizens.”

The PDP also questioned what it described as extravagant spending by the governor, highlighting reports of over 2 billion Naira spent on office renovations. Drawing parallels to former Governor Yahaya Bello, the party suggested that Ododo’s administration follows a similar approach to governance.

The party urged citizens not to be swayed by claims of salary payments, pointing out that Kogi is reported to have one of the smallest civil services in the country, both at state and local Government Council levels.

“The administration appears to operate for the interests of a few, rather than for the welfare of the general public,” Aruwa added.
“A full and transparent disclosure of financial activities and workforce details is essential to restore trust in governance and promote accountability in Kogi State.”
