Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has announced that security forces are preparing to confront insurgents disrupting critical power infrastructure in northern Nigeria.
This decision follows the vandalism of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line, a primary electricity source for the region, leading to widespread outages.

Jibrin stated that he has been coordinating with the national security adviser and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on efforts to secure and restore power.
President Bola Tinubu has also instructed the military to protect workers engaged in the repair efforts, with Jibrin emphasizing that operational details will remain confidential to ensure the mission’s success. The government is actively pursuing reliable power restoration to northern residents affected by the insurgent attacks.
