Labour Party(LP) leader and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially kicked off a three-day appreciation tour in the United States, with the aim to engage with the Nigerian Diaspora.
The Peter Obi Medolia Reach (POMR) spokesperson, Ibrahim Umar in a statement on Wednesday said the tour which is scheduled to hold from October 24th to 26th, 2024, will see Obi visiting Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and Atlanta, Georgia.

Explaining further the statement indicated that the tour will represent the concluding segment of his North America Appreciation visits.
“Obi has already made stopover in cities such as Toronto, Boston, New York City, and Dallas, where he has been meeting with supporters and sharing his vision for a new Nigeria.

“The primary goal of the tour is to foster ongoing interaction with Nigerians abroad, reinforcing Obi’s commitment to involving the Diaspora in Nigeria’s nation-building process. “Throughout his 2023 campaign, he consistently highlighted the importance of greater engagement from Nigerians living overseas in the political and developmental discourse of the country.”

Obi’s team emphasized that the tour is not only a platform for expressing gratitude but also an opportunity to discuss pressing national issues and outline his strategies for addressing them.
Distinctively, Obi has continued to engage with supporters even after the elections, deviating from the traditional political norm of limiting outreach to campaign seasons.

During the tour, Obi plans to hold interactive sessions where he will answer questions from the Nigerian community and reaffirm his dedication to creating a better Nigeria.
He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the steadfast support he received from Nigerians, both at home and abroad, throughout his presidential campaign.

The former Governor of Anambra State is anticipated to underscore the critical role of the Nigerian Diaspora in shaping the future of the nation, particularly in areas such as economic development, governance, and policy formulation.

As a key figure in Nigeria’s political arena, Obi continues to advocate for necessary reforms and policies aimed at improving the nation’s socio-economic landscape.
