Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated Dr. Peter O. Nwosu on becoming the first Black and African-born president of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego

Writing on his X handle Obi said his accomplishments are a strong reminder, not only to individuals but also to leaders of the Nigerian society, of the critical need to invest in education if we are to lift our nation out of its current challenges and onto a path of development.
“As I have always said, education remains the most valuable investment any nation can make in its citizens.
“Once again, I congratulate Dr. Nwosu and pray that God grants him the wisdom and strength to succeed in this new role, while continuing to contribute to the development of our nation, particularly in the education sector.”
