Ododo lauds NG-CARES, Kogi CSDA over implementation of govt’s development initiatives

**Flags off training of CPMCs for 170 Micro Projects

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi has applauded the State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) and the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) for helping to take his administration’s development initiatives to the doorsteps of the people.

Ododo disclosed this on Wednesday in Okene at the opening ceremony for second batch of training of Community and Group Project Management Committees (CPMCs) for 170 community projects spread across the state.

The governor was represented by Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris, the state Commissioner For Finance Budget and Economic Planning and Chairman, State CARES Steering Committee, (SCSC).

He expressed delight that the projects designed to benefit over 200,000 rural dwellers would positively impact lives more especially, at the grassroots.

He said that the micro projects to be implemented across the state were those having direct bearing on the lives of the people of the State as he reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

Ododo expressed optimism that the execution of the 170 Micro Projects which being implemented by the CSDA under the NG-CARES platform
would benefit about 200,000 beneficiaries spread across the the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

The Governor assured the people that overall development of the state occupied priority position of his administration, saying that the best was yet to come for the people.

The Finance Commissioner, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, in his private capacity, appreciated the State Governor for his commitment especially in the payment of counterpart contributions for the funding of the programme.

Idris assured rural dwellers of massive people-oriented community projects being initiated by Ododo’s administration aimed at reducing poverty and hunger and as well, encouraging self reliance.

In his remarks, Chief Dauda Momoh, General Manager, Kogi Community and Social Development, pointed out that the administration of Governor Ododo had resolved to bring development to the doorsteps of the people.

He explained that the ongoing projects under execution are being handled by 😯 Community/Group Project Management Committees with 80 Development Plans were expected to benefit more than 200,000.

Chief Dauda Momoh said that in accordance with the Agency’s work plan, the Community Development Plan schedule, the projects are expected to be fully implemented and functional by the end of September, 2024.

He urged the Community Implementation Committees of the projects to adhere to the specifications, pointing out that the agency would sanction and blacklist defaulters.

The General Manager commended the present administration for providing funds needed for the NG-CARES projects.

He said that Governor Ododo’s stance on the release of the entire project funds to the Agency was responsible for the unhindered execution of the projects.

He assured that the projects cutting across the State would be completed at the expected time and delivered for inauguration. (Ends)
