50 Civil Societies, Youth Groups decline to join Nationwide Protest in Jigawa

Less than 24 hours to the commencement of the planned nationwide EndBadGovernment protest, about 50 civil society organizations and youth associations under the Youth and Civil Society Coalition For Development (YCSD) have pulled out from participating in the protest in Jigawa state.
This was disclosed by the National chairman of the YCSD Comrade Aminu Aminu while addressing news men shortly after the group executive meeting in Dutse, Jigawa state capital.
He said the coalition took the decision after careful consideration on the need for peace and security of the country.
The national chairman said he recognized the present hardship the people are going through in the country, “but going by the situation the protest will not be a solution”.
According to him the Coalition met at the executive level and carefully considered the protest and it’s unidentified organizers in addition to possibilities of hoodlums and criminal hijacking the protest, to loot and destroy properties of innocent Nigerians”.
“For these including our conviction to the effects that the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strides to bring lasting solution to the problems, we agreed and resolved not to participate in the protest”.
The National chairman therefore urged the Nigerian youth to take precaution agaisnt taking part in the protest which would be high jacked by faceless group for possible selfish interest.
Comrade Aminu therefore called on the youth to shun the up coming protest but engaged in constructive dialogue with government agencies and stakeholders to address their concern
He also appealed to the government at all levels to speeds the plans, policies and strategies that would bring lasting solutions to the present hardship.
