***Says Violent Protest Will Reverse Gains Of The Past 13 Months

By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has called on Nigerian youths to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his determination to fix the economy and bring the nation back on tract rather than embark on protests.

Ododo made the call at Credit Support Programme for 500 Women and Youth in Poultry Value Chain midwived by Kogi State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) on Tuesday in Lokoja.

“We sincerely appreciate, Mr. President, always, for the special concern and recognition given to us, the younger ones and women, given to us, the children of nobody, given to us as somebody that doesn’t have name in the society.

“This singular honour, this singular recognition, we will not betray. We are going to support Mr. President from the beginning to the end and beyond.

“Mr. President is trying. What we are facing today is not caused by him. He inherited this economic crisis and hardship. And he is trying to pull us out of it.

“I urge everyone of us as a state to support Mr President’s programs and policies so that together we can jointly pull ourselves out of this economic hardship.

The Governor asserted that President Tinubu has demonstrated an uncommon and brilliant approach to systematically bring the nation’s economy back to life and deserved every support that could be mustered.

“As a state, we will continue to support his laudable initiative in making Nigeria great. To those Nigerians who are bent on violent protests, let reasoning prevail.

“We sincerely appreciate, Mr. President, always, for the special concern and recognition given to us, the younger ones and women.

“This singular honour, this singular recognition, we will not betray. We are going to support Mr President from the beginning to the end and beyond.

“We are making progress. We are moving forward. Our hopes are back. We are climbing back to reckoning. Any violent protest at a time like this will no doubt reverse our gain in the past 13 months.

“The intent of the promoters of the protests in Nigeria are concealed in political desperation. I call on all the youth of our dear nation to rise behind Mr. President in his determination to fix the nation back on track”, he said. (Ends)
