NSF hails Tinubu for Assent to North West Development Commission
***Says, it will help tackle insecurity
The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has described the establishment of the North West Development Commission as a major step towards tackling the root causes of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunities that has bedevilled the region.
This was contained in a letter of appreciation they sent to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to the Northwest Development Commission Bill.
Expressing the goodwill of the Forum, the chairman Sen. Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja said Tinubu’s visionary approach has enhanced security in the Northwest.
He said signing of the North West Development Commission Bill into law is a testament to President Tinubu administration’s dedication to tackling the challenges facing the nation through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I wish to most respectfully express my heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude for signing the North West Development Commission Bill into law.
“This landmark achievement has instilled renewed confidence in your administration’s commitment to the development and prosperity of our beloved nation, particularly the North West region.
“Your visionary leadership has rekindled hope for enhanced security in our zone, which has been plagued by insecurity in recent times.
According to him, the Commission’s focus on addressing food shortages and boosting agricultural production will have a direct impact on the lives of the people, who have been struggling to access basic necessities. “Your administration’s efforts to revitalize the agricultural sector will not only ensure food security but also create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
“I am also delighted that the Commission will prioritize solving the problem of out-of-school children in our region. Education is the bedrock of development, and your commitment to ensuring that all Nigerian children have access to quality education is truly commendable.
He pointed out that the revival of the cotton industry in the North, which was once a thriving sector, will have a significant impact on our economy. “The potential for job creation, wealth generation, and industrial growth is enormous, and we are grateful for your leadership in this regard.
“Once again, I wish to humbly express my sincere appreciation for your unwavering commitment to the development of Nigeria, particularly the North West region.
