Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic,Lokoja, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman has called for prayers for Nigeria and leaders to serve and lead humanity with compassion, love and kindness.

The Professor of Political Science made the call in his message of felicitations with the Muslim Ummah, government and people of Kogi state on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir on Sunday in Lokoja.

He specially felicitated with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the entire “Consolidation and Continuity Family” for the grace to witness the auspicious moment.

He said, “As we mark this significant event, we pray for Allah’s blessings, guidance, and protection, and for the strength to continue to serve humanity with compassion, love, and kindness.

It is my prayer that Allah (SWT) will guide us on the path of peace, and accept every act of worship of ours as an act of Ibada’at through sacrificial giving in the quest for a greater and more prosperous Polytechnic, Kogi State and Nigeria.

Also in his message of felicitations, Alhaji Ahmed Sule Chogudo, Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Service, Kogi State House of Assembly, called on the Muslim Ummah to reach out to the poor, vulnerable and destitute in the society.

Chogudo in the message signed by the Head, Information Department of the Assembly, Idowu Aliu, said there was no better time to demonstrate the spirit of sacrifice towards these categories of people than now.

He said that the call was particularly imperative now that the people are going through economic hardship and need support from well to do individuals around them.

According to him, Allah is more pleased with those who extend love and support to the less privileged, urging wealthy Muslims not to go about having funfair without recourse to those who look up to them for succour.

He noted that the life of Prophet Ibrahim signified
total obedience to the will of Allah as he made attempt to sacrifice his son, pointing out that it behoves on every Muslim faithful to give sacrificially to attract Allah’s blessings.

The Clerk felicitated with the State Legislators and all Muslims for the privilege to witness another Eid-el-Kabir.

He said the state and the country at large needed prayers and hard work to come out of the economic quagmire threatening the common good of the people.

Chogudo said he was hopeful that with the collective efforts of Nigerians, the country would surmount the current hardship being faced.

He enjoined the people to keep faith in the quest to see a better Nigeria. (Ends)
