2024 Easter: Kogi CP Assures Citizens of Adequate Security, Peace

Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha has assured people of the State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property before, during and after the 2024 Easter celebration.
The Commissioner gave the assurance in a statement issued by SP William Ovye Aya, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO) on Friday in Lokoja.
According to the statement, the CP had earlier in a meeting directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), their Supervisory Area Commanders as well as Tactical Commanders to ensure security of lives in their various areas of jurisdiction.
He particularly ordered them to deploy adequate Security assets ahead of the Easter celebration to prevent any untoward situation in their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR) and to ensure peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
The CP also directed the DPOs to implement crime prevention strategies put in place by the Command and carry out intensive crime prevention patrols along the major highways, residential and vulnerable points, places of worship and public intersections.
While congratulating the Christians faithful in the State on the occasion the year 2024 Easter celebration, CP Bethrand Onuoha reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to collaborative synergies with other Security Agencies in ensuring safety of lives and property of all.
He said that the Command was vehement in its denial of space for criminal elements to thrive in and around the State.
“To this end, the CP urges the good people of Kogi State to be security conscious throughout the period and beyond.
“He equally urged them to continue to collaborate with the Police and other security agencies, to volunteer credible and timely information on criminal elements and their activities in the State”, Aya said. (Ends)
