Kogi Assembly screens 2 Commissioner nominees, approves 50 Special Advisers for Ododo

KOGI State House of Assembly has approved for appointment 50 Special Advisers, screened and confirmed two Commissioner nominees as requested by the Executive Governor of the State, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The House which is the 8th Assembly in the State confirmed the Commissioner nominees and approved the request by the Executive Arm to appoint the 50 Special Advisers at plenary on Tuesday in Lokoja.

The Commissioner nominees confirmed by the Assembly include Dr Adeniyi Helen Aderibigbe, (Ijumu) for Ministry of Innovation Science & Technology, and Atuluku Levi Victor, from Omala Local Government Area for Ministry of Transportation.

Addressing newsmen shortly after, Dr Aderibigbe promised to put in her best in realizing the campaign promises of the present administration and reiterated her commitment to make the nation proud through hard work and diligence.

“As the name of my Ministry implies innovation, so the first thing to be brought in is innovation. We will review what is on ground. Actually, is a new Ministry but it is not a strange Ministry.

“There has been precedence as regards the Ministry. We will study what is on ground, take our own review, see areas that improvement has to be put in. If there is need for change, we will change. If there is need for restructuring we will restructure.

“That is the innovation aspect of it which will encourage the scientific approach to almost every issues that is on ground. We will study every problem on ground, then we device means of providing solution for the problem.

“For us this is the technology aspect of it. I want to see Kogi State that other State will be emulating in term of technological improvement”, She added.

The Assembly also approved the request by the Executive to appoint 50 special advisers to work with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. (Ends)
