CEO of Access Holdings, Son, Wife, NGX Chair, Ogunbanjo die in California Chopper crash

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, has died in the chopper transporting him, alongside his son, wife and Chairman of the Nigeria Exchange Group PLC (NGX), Abimbola Ogunbanjo in a chopper that crash in California, United States (US) on Friday night.

It was gathered that the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night, February 9, 2024.

The US government has also confirmed that all on board are dead.

They were reportedly heading for Las Vegas to watch Super Bowl, the annual league championship game of the National Football League (NFL) of the United States.

Wigwe left Lagos State, Nigeria, on Wednesday to watch the Super Bowl 58, an American football competition.

Wigwe and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, were absent at the Access Bank Lagos Marathon on Saturday.

The governor was represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat.

US officials had said the helicopter crashed near Nipton on the edge of the Mojave Desert late on Friday evening
