Kogi Speaker Congratulates new traditional rulers, transitional LG Chairs

Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated the newly appointed traditional rulers in Kogi State as just announced by Governor Yahaya Bello.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed Transitional Committee Chairmen in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
In a press statement signed by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the speaker and made available to newsmen on Monday in Lokoja also congratulated the newly appointed Transitional Committee Chairmen in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
The Speaker urged the new appointees to justify government confidence by being proactive and peace oriented.
He particularly mentioned the new Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, the Maigari of Lokoja, the Mayaki of Kupa and others as traditional stools worthy of attracting development to their communities.
He urged them to do everything necessary to ensure they attract improvement in infrastructure and peaceful coexistence to their domains.
The speaker applauded the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for ensuring due diligence and commitment towards fetching the right people take over the stools, adding that it had endeared the governor more to the people.
In the same vein, Rt Hon. Yusuf mentioned that the new Local Government Chairmen that have been announced were in consonance with the Governor’s pronouncement that new leaders with fresh ideas would emerge in the state.
He advised them to prepare a fertile ground for the incoming Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure a smooth working relationship with people at the grassroots.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of the Governor-elect in view of his experience as the immediate past Auditor General for Local Government.
The Speaker called on the chairmen to build on the legacies of their predecessors just as he added that they should take the security of lives of people in their localities seriously and ensure the current administration finished strongly as Governor Bello prepares to hand over. (Ends)
