    New Year: Kogi Assembly Speaker Felicitates with Citizens, promises emancipatory policies

    Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf has expressed optimism that government at all levels would in the new year 2024, roll out policies that would better and improve the lives of Nigerians against all odds.

    Yusuf who gave the assurances in his New Year message to the people of the state congratulated the citizens on the occasion of the New Year and urged them to pray for the state and the country.

    In the press statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, signed by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Yusuf congratulated Nigerians on the occasion with a promise that 2024 would be usher in positive changes.

    He felicitated with Governor Yahaya Bello, the Deputy Governor, the Governor-elect, members of the State Executive Council and his colleagues in the state Assembly saying 2014 would be a rewarding year.

    Yusuf promised the people of the state of the preparedness of the 8th Assembly under his leadership, to ensure positive synergy and close working relationship with the Executive to improve the lives of the people.

    He assured that government at all levels would collaborate to ensure improved welfare and emancipation for the people going forward and urged the citizens to remember the state in their prayers

    The Speaker said his colleagues were carrying out oversight functions even during the Yuletide Season to ensure they aggressively pursue legislations that would make life better for the people in the New Year. (Ends)
