The Vice president, senator Kashim Shetima has called on residents in the North Central Nigeria to embrace peace and live together irrespective of ethnicity, religion.

The Vice president made the call at Karu, Nasarawa state yesterday while commissioning a five kilometer road in Masaka-Luvu.
Shetima who lauded governor Abdullahi Sule for his commitment to peace, infrastructure development, appealed for peaceful coexistence among residents for development to be delivered.

He said, “We have to learn to embrace and to tolerate each other in Northern Nigeria. I see no reason why we should be fighting one another.

“We should resist that temptation that could plunge us into a state of anarchy because it is easy to create chaos but very difficult to bring back peace. So instead of the fightings, we should collectively unite against poverty, destitution and backwardness

The Vice President however highlighted the potential for economic growth the new road will unlock, as it is nestled within the Karu local government area which has a strategic significance due to its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Shetima assured the community that the federal government would continue partnering with the state to ensure further infrastructure development in the area.

“We will not rest until every Nigerian has access to the infrastructure they need to thrive,” he declared.

In his remarks, governor Sule acknowledged the earlier commissioning of the 248 Housing Unit Estate in the area by the federal government and the subsequent community request for improved access roads.
Sule emphasized the administration’s commitment to prioritising infrastructure development across urban and rural areas
