Kogi CSDA GM congratulates Governor-elect, solicits support for Agency

General Manager, Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) Chief Dauda Momoh,

has congratulated the state Governor-Elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on his victory at the November 11, polls and urged him to accord maximum support to the Agency.

The General Manager who disclosed this while speaking at a “Surprise Birthday Party” organized in his honour by staff of the Agency on Wednesday in Lokoja described Ododo’s victory and emergence as governor-elect as divine.

“My prayer has been that God should give us somebody that will come and recognize this Agency. Somebody that will move this Agency forward”, he said.

Speaking on Consolidation and Continuity stance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emergence of Ododo in the state, the General Manager said, “You see, it’s always very easy to continue with the people you know.

“You might have agitated for a change in government but for me and for us as an agency, I believe what has happened is in the best interest of this Agency and I want to use this opportunity to also congratulate the Governor-Elect.

Chief Dauda Momoh extolled the humility, loyalty, gentle disposition and virtues of the Governor-elect and urged people not to look down on anybody, no matter his position or condition at a given time, as only God knows what any one would become tomorrow.

“He came into the government through somebody and is today, the governor-elect. Because of who he is, God has made it possible for him today. I’ve never heard anybody say any negative thing about him.

“Today, he is the governor-elect. And I can tell you up to this moment, that he’s still seeing it as a dream. It’s something he has never imagined”, he said.

Chief Dauda Momoh also thanked the Media for their support and believe in the Agency saying, “I also want to thank the media team, most especially my good friends. You guys are my pillars. I appreciate all of you.

“You have done a lot of things for the agency, even for myself, that we cannot reward you, but God Almighty will reward you”, he said.

The General Manager thanked the entire staff for their show of love in planning and executing the “Surprise Birthday Get Together” wondering how they were able to harness the resources to package it.

He said that in spite of the hiccups in the finances accruing to the Agency and the resultant non-payment of salaries for months, the Agency had continued to wax strong.

“At least, we have moved further from where we were about eight months ago. And by the special grace of God, before the end of this year, we will be where we want to be”, the General Manager assured.

Highlights of the occasion include goodwill messages from various departments and the representative of the Media professionals, prayers from Muslim and Christian clergies culminating in the cutting of the birthday cake. (Ends)
