Murdered Journalist: NUJ urges Security agencies to bring perpetrators to book

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State Council, has urged security agencies to investigate the murder of a Journalist, Hamisu Danjibga who was a staff of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), with a view to bring the perpetrators to book.

A statement by the Secretary of the Union Ibrahim Ahmad Gada issued Wednesday, September 20, 2023 indicated that the corpse of Danjibga was discovered in a soakaway few days after he was abducted from his home.
The NUJ while announcing the death of Hamisu Danjibga, said that the discovery of his corpse was as result of unpleasant odour being perceived by some pupils of an Islamiya school in the evening of Wednesday, September 20, 2023 who drew the attention of their teachers to the scene.

The statement further indicated that, ”After breaking the soakaway the dead body was confirmed to be that of Danjibga by his family and some neighbours. His funeral rites have since been observed according to Islamic injunctions.

The union while expressing its condolence to the family of the late Danjibga, Voice of Nigeria and Zamfara state, equally expressed grave concern over the nature of the late journalist’s demise.
