Nigeria hosts Commonwealth youth summit Africa Region, 2023
The Nigeria Youth Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat in partnership with the Commonwealth Youth Programme are organising the Commonwealth Youth and Students Summit for African Region in line with the Commonwealth declaration of 2023 as the “Year of the Youth.”
The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar made the disclosure in Abuja on Sunday
A statement by the director of press and public relations Mohammed Manga quoted Alhaji Abubakar to have indicated the theme of the summit as, “Co-creating our common future: Leadership in the Digital Age in Africa”.
The Permanent Secretary explained that the summit which comes up in Abuja between 9th to 12th May 2023, will serve as a platform that primarily targets the youth as the key actors in the Development Agenda of the African Continent and is expected to be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria.
