The labour party’s Presidential Candidate Peter Obi has debunked insinuations that he accepted the declaration of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of the February 25th Presidential election.
Obi who appeared on the Morning Show on Arise Tv, where he answered questions, on Post Presidential Election developments, including his rejection of the declared results, and purported winner, by INEC, and his legal challenge therefrom said, his position has not changed.
“No change whatsoever in our position on the flawed Presidential election.”
A statement by the Media Team of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation quoted Obi in his response to a question, to have been emphatic on his condemnation of the process, under which the Election was conducted, including his rejection of the declared results, and purported winner, by INEC, and his legal challenge therefrom.”

“This is now being mischievously twisted as an acceptance of the declaration or outcome of the election in some conventional titles and social media forums, with a daily newspaper online leading the pack.

“It is quite clear, that a compromised and incompetent process, cannot produce a legitimate or acceptable outcome.

“It is also necessary to underline fundamentally the rejection of Mr Peter Obi, his running mate and the Labour Party /PCC the processes and conclusions arrived by INEC, with respect to the February 25th Presidential election, in totality.

“Mr Peter Obi and the Labour Party remain convinced that the Election was carried out with disregard for law and due process, and with overbearing evidence of malfunctions, discrepancies, interference, intimidation, thuggery, alterations and criminality.
“Our position on the flawed elections of February 25th has not changed, and that is why we are in court.”

Obi at the morning show also declared 100% of his support for Labour Party governorship and National Assembly candidates for Saturday’s election
Obi who spoke in answer to a question said emphatically that all Labour Candidates who got the ticket through the normal process will enjoy his total commitment and support as he urged the people to vote for them on Saturday.

In particular he mentioned states like Enugu(Hon. Chijioke Edeoga), Lagos (Gbadebo Patrick Rhodes-Vivour ), Abia Alex Otti, Delta (Deacon Ken Pela), Kaduna, (Johnathan Asake) Plateau (Dr. Sunday Patrick Dakum) among others whom he is urging Obidients in the states to give them maximum support
He saidon with them a foundation for a new Nigeria of everyone’s dream will be realized.

The LP flag bearer also disclosed that in some states where Labour Party has no flag bearer, the Obidient should identify and vote for competent persons in other parties who have character and capacity and who share in the aspiration of a new Nigeria.

He said that there are still some Nigerians in other political parties who believe in the Obidient aspirations, pointing out that such people should be fished where we have no candidate and vote for them.
