The man appointed to take charge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Femi Odubiyi was a commissioner in Lagos State, former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has revealed.

Speaking on Arise Television news, Chief George said that if the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood did complain that there was a hitch in the election it was his making.
“He was quite aware that the Odubiyi he hurriedly appointed to take over from the former Director in-charge of ICT in INEC, who was transferred to Enugu as Administrative Secretary, was not supposed to be in such a sensitive position giving his political affiliation and loyalty to a particular presidential candidate.

George insisted that it remains a puzzle how Femi Odubiyi, a former commissioner for Science and Technology, became INEC ICT director.

“I have asked this question before. Who is the man in charge of ICT in INEC? We have now discovered that he was first of all a commissioner in Lagos, specifically, a commissioner for Science and Technology. His name is Femi Odubiyi.

“The same Odubiyi is the manager in charge of the ICT department at INEC. How did he become commissioner in Lagos? Who put him there? And then, who put him in the INEC?

“If Prof. Yakubu actually complained that there was a hitch, so why is Odubiyi appointed and still there?” he queried.
