The Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has asked Nigerians to vote for humanbeings for the first time as the labour Party’s logo represents the symbol of a family (Papa, Mama and Pikin)
Obi, on Thursday took his campaign to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), declaring to the people that he and his running mate, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed are the right people to vote on 25th of February, 2023

Obi who had charged the nation’s capital with his strategic visits to some markets in Abuja on Wednesday and a road show Thursday morning, making the rally carnival-like, told the jubilant crowd that a revolution is coming if the people vote for the Labour Party
Addressing the people at the Old parade ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, Obi said Nigerians Voted for the Umbrella in years past the symbol of PDP and the umbrella leaked making poverty to rain on them adding that they also voted the Broom which have been used to sweep them into poverty by the APC.

“We want people with capacity, compassion so they know when people are suffering. We can not continue the way we are going now.
“You voted for the umbrella it leaked, suffering poured on you, you voted for the broom they swept you into poverty, now we want you to vote for human beings so that we can start progressing. Mama, Papa and Pikin.
“We care about Mother, and we care about the child. That is the beginning of your life.
“We have told you to hold us responsible for a new Nigeria. We will change this Nigeria, we will give you exactly the growth of Nigeria annually.
“We will stop all the stealing, none of us have stolen, our record is clear. They told me I am stingy because they have stolen all the money.
He also indicated that the 2023 election is the first time a party is presenting to Nigeria, youngsters who were born after independence as national chairman, Presidential Candidate and his running mate

“Labour Party is producing what has never happened before
We are going to offer you our national chairman, Presidential candidate and the vice presidential candidate, the three most important people in the journey who were all born after independence.
“For the first time in Nigeria if you take the average age of three of us, it is 55years
“Let me tell you the other two main parties their average age is over seventy. Just to give you an example, APC candidate is 75, PDP candidate is 71
Our own candidate is 62, that is 20 years difference.”
Analysing further he listed the Chairmen of the three parties with APC, 70yrs, PDP, 71yrs while LP is 52yrs

His words: “Nigeria in the past 20 years have produced insecurity; Nigeria in the past 20 years have produced poverty and unemployment.

“We are offering you security and prosperity. We are going to fight insecurity. Criminals are no longer formidable unless there is no leadership,”

He said his government will start by revolutionalizing Nigeria as a country and move to provide good things of life.

“There will be a food revolution. We are going to make food abundant so that Nigerians will have no reason to be hungry again.

“We will empower women and youths. We will unite Nigeria. In the next five years, you will be proud to be a Nigerian and nobody will treat you based on where you come from,” he said.

The LP candidate noted that in 2012, unemployment was 16 percent, but now it is 65 percent.

“We will employ our youths. Nigeria will be a great nation again. Join us to build a new Nigeria. You are the ones contesting this election through us, we are only representing you,” Obi said.

“Labour Party is producing what has never happened before. For the first time, the presidential candidate and the running mate, and the National Chairman were born after independence.

“This election will be by competence. We are competent people. We are compassionate people. Our commitment is total, hold us responsible for a new Nigeria.

“We will stop stealing. They want to buy your votes. If they give you money, collect it, it is your money, collect and vote for us,” he added.

The vice presidential candidate Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, described Obi as a shining star, noting that for eight years as Anambra State governor, he borrowed no money.

Dr. Ahmed stated that after nine years, Obi is coming back, not for Anambra but for Nigeria.

“Anybody who tells you the security situation in the country has improved does not mean well for Nigeria.

“Peter Obi will unite Nigeria. We are coming to do things differently. Peter Obi is going to work for Nigeria,” he assured.

According to him the ruling party has been producjng everything that is wrong
“What Datti and I are offering you is simple, we are offering you security of live and property, we will fight insecurity.
“The criminal can not be more formidable except there is no leadership. We will unit Nigeria. We will ensure that no Nigerian after five years will be talking about where he is from, East, west or South but that they are Nigerians who will be proud of their country.
“Our country will move from consumption to production. Today your country is not producing anything. Today we have 35% unemployment
In 2012 the number of Nigerians that were in absolute poverty was 65million today it is 95million.”

“I went to Yenogoa this morning from where I went to Warri
Pastor Adeboye said something this morning
He quoted Pastor Adeboye to have said People like me are leaving the stage, I pray that the young pastors coming after me will be far greater and better.”
Obi expressed concern saying, “when will Nigerian politicians say this? When will they tell the youths they will be greater? “Instead they want to stay there till end of life. That is not what we want. It is your Government youths of Nigeria. We want to bring about your government. This election on 25th will not be about ethnicity, tribe or religion. “Every tribe is suffering, every tribe is in pain. Is there any tribe buying things cheaper.
Nigeria is multi religious (Secular) we respect every religion, No religion buys bread cheaper so it is not about religion and it is nobody’s turn you should take back your country.
“It is your turn to take back your country. It is not about their turn.”
