Former Acting Governor and Speaker of Kogi State, Rt Hon Abdullahi Bello has called for restraint and truce in the ongoing imbroglio between the Government of Kogi State and HRM, Dr Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

The state government had issued a query to the revered Paramount king over what it described as insubordination.

He was accused of refusing to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari when he visited the state last week

The former Speaker in the statement he personally signed appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to tread softly.”I appeal to the Governor, HE Alh Yahaya Bello who is the head of Government, to exhibit highest level of tolerance in this matter, he should remember that we’re trained to accept whatever our father or mother (parents) does to us as children, and that, the Ohinoyi being a father to all of us including the Governor himself, I appeal that he withhold further actions on this, more importantly if the monarch has respectfully responded to the query from the ministry in charge of Chieftancy Affairs!

“A father will not shoot his children with a loaded gun, neither is a son expected to fire his father to death please.
“Let us light a candle instead of hissing in the dark, and maintain absolute peace as we head into elections and possible transition of governance.”
