The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party Babba Ahmed Datti on Sunday night raised a fundermental issue about how desperate their opponents became with fake news especially his counterpart on the joint ticket of the All Progressives Congress whom he had to call to order though he did not mention his name.He said he had to stage a Press conference to counter such dirty politics and warn that it would not be tolerated from hence forth. He spoke at a special Town Hall meeting organized by ChannelsTV and their partners in Abuja.

“Fake news had been on the increase actually, the last Press conference that I held has made a huge impact on the 2023 elections it was actually intended to call a particular gentleman to order who was going on a very dangerous direction
“It was uncivilised, undemocratic and unpolitical the way they were attacking our personalities
“IIt was no longer making sense, because of politics they wanted to practice what is not acceptable
“A businessman like Peter Obi who was very excited at the oil opportunity in Northern Nigeria and all they do was say that he was against it.
“This can not continue. When I joined the ticket I came against certain lies against him and I knew they were heading towards that and Particularly my good friend on the APC side on the sane level.
“You know when people think they have money, they have power and the sitting authority is there, there is no limit, someone has to tap them in the shoulder.
“I did it and I pointed a finger, if you do it again , when you do one, I will do three and he knows I am capable of doing it However me and my family have been paying a huge price for my attempt to rescue Nigeria,I would have been happier if they stop with me as an individual.

“35 years ago his father of blessed memory passed away they insulted him, it doesnt happen anywhere in the world, you don’t insult people’s parents. It was a huge price.
At that point he went emotional
