Jigawa: Governor Badaru Signs 2023 appropriation bill Into Law

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has signed the 2023 budget of the state into law.

Speaking at the event, Badaru said the budget priotized completion of the ongoing projects.

He explained further that the 2023 budget was designed to consolidate on all the gains made in the last seven years particularly in the area of physical and human capital development.

According to him “The 2023 Jigawa state budget will be used for completing most of the ongoing projects in the state”.

“In the last seven years we were able to construct over 1,700 km roads, achieved 95 percent access to water, improved our GDP with over 100 percent, built and renovate over 6,000 classrooms,”

He stated further that “Through effective budget implementation we are able to improve on our education sector and the results manifested in our students’ WAEC/NECO results from 4.5 percent to over 60 percent of those who obtained 5 credit including Math and English “

Badaru therefore promised to ensure that Jigawa citizens continue to enjoy dividends of democracy throughout his tenure.

The governor signed the budget after the state assembly had passed it with no increase from the amount of N172 billion presented to them.

He expressed satisfaction with the state budget performance in the last seven years of his administration.
