2023 general election
Abuja indigenous people rejects Atiku
***Describe his purported endorsement as hoax
The original inhabitants of Abuja under the auspices of Indigenous People Forum (IPF) have indicated that they would never support the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,
This was contained in a press statement by the association following the impression created in the media that the people of Abuja have endorsed him.
According to the statement signed by its secretary, Comrade Danjuma Jose Danisa, the original inhabitants of the city have had enough of Atiku’s incessant lies, deceit and frequent desecration of its traditional rulers.
“We, the original inhabitants want to make it clear that Atiku Abubakar can never get our supports if he continues to deceive and disrespect our traditional rulers, the way he has been doing.”
He said Nigeria deserves a president who is not arrogant like Atiku, the country needs a personality that would not believe in creating disunity every where he goes mainly to achieve his selfish interests.
“Atiku lacks every sense of leadership, as he always strives to build castle in the air and this will spell a doom for this country if Nigerians make mistake of electing him as president comes 2023.”
“His trade mark is deceit and the original inhabitants of FCT can never fall for that, we are people of integrity who can not just be bought or railroaded by a money bag politician like Atiku Abubakar.
“IPF outrightly condemns this act of desperation on the part of Atiku because how will it possible to barb a head when the owner of the head is not around, you claimed to have come to Abuja but you did not deem it fit to visit any of the palaces of our royal fathers, then who are you relating with if you choose to always ignore our royal fathers”
“Therefore for the sake of clarity, we, the original Abuja inhabitants have never taken a decision on whom to work for in 2023 talk less of endorsing someone who is full of himself and disrespect our fathers.
Meanwhile, he indicated that they are still maintaining their stand that it is their ‘charter of demands’ that would lead them to where their support will tilt to.
“So, it is an insult to the sensibilities of our people to hear that somebody endorsed an arrogant person like Atiku without signing our charter of demands. “This is a total disregard to the entire original inhabitants for Atiku to have claimed that FCT indigenous people have endorsed him, what a big lie from someone who is dreaming to rule this country, we pray every patriotic Nigerians distance themselves from a devil, corrupt and fraudulent person like Atiku.
“From records, Atiku was the vice president for good eight years here in Abuja, can he remember a day he visited any of our traditional rulers talk less of consulting them, the answer is NO and now he repeated the same by not visiting them in their palaces.
“We therefore want Nigerians to help us ask Atiku if it is not a norm during campaigns like this for a presidential candidate to visit the royal fathers of that state after a visit to the state governor, why Atiku keeps treating our royal fathers with contempt every time?
And to worsen the situation, the following day Atiku came to Abuja, he visited our neighborhood, Nassarrawa state and he was seen visiting a palace. “So, FCT indigenous people are not fool and we hold our royal fathers in high esteem and for this we can never give our support to someone who does not respect our fathers.
“We have seen on many occasions where president Muhammad Buhari would come down from his exalted position to meet and speak with our people through our traditional rulers most especially Ona of Abaji.
He said it is a this is the reason, they are using the opportunity to sound a note of warning again that enough of railroading their traditional rulers to achieve their selfish interests.
The statement added that deceiving our traditional rulers into a political meeting will never be welcome again because we interpret this as a deceit, lack of respect for the royal fathers and a total disdain for original inhabitants of Abuja.
However, they advised senator Phillip Taminu Aduda to desist from selling their people for a pot of porridge in the name of politics because “if at all he has an hatred for our fathers, he should realize that it is the same people of these communities under the control of these royal fathers that keep giving him the mandate as senator every four years.
“We remember how he treated a palace very closed to his house in Karu during the burial of his late father on the 20th of October this year.”
“Like we said earlier, our people are not fools, they have given him ample times to retrace his steps because the feeling was that he might use this time to correct all the mistakes of the past but he has shown us that he would never change
“Therefore, to set the record straight what they called endorsement was just a PDP arrangement not that of generality of all Abuja original inhabitants, where senator Phillip Aduda invited our royal fathers into his house for a meeting but to their utter surprises, they met the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar there and nothing was discussed than begging them to support his ambition.”
