Multiple award winning poet, Osundare delivers lecture at merit award
Professor Niyi Osundare is billed to deliver the lecture at the Nigerian National Order Merit, (NNOM) Awards ceremony, holding in Abuja, on Wednesday.
On arrival, the renowned, US-based multiple award-winning poet, literary critic, dramatist, scholar, essayist and public intellectual, Professor Osundare was received in Abuja by Tunde Olusunle and Tivlumun Nyitse, both journalists and poets.
Osundare is a winner of the Commonwealth Poetry Prize; Noma Award and the Fonlon/Nichols Prize for poetry, among others.
He was in 2013, decorated with the Nigerian National Order Merit, (NNOM), the highest recognition for creative and intellectual excellence in Nigeria.
Olusunle on his part, is through and through a Niyi Osundare scholar, whose groundbreaking PhD thesis deployed social science theories to interrogate literary production.
