A former reps member oepresenting Lafia/Obi federal constituency, Mohammed Al-Makura, has installed about 197 streetlights in communities in the area.
Al-Makura was in the House of Representatives between 2007 to 2011. He has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to return to the lower chamber again in 2023.
His campaign director general, Honourable Reyyanu Iliyasu told journalists in Lafia that despite being out of elective office for long, the former member has continued to touch the lives of his constituents through people oriented projects.
According to him, the solar streetlights initiative was one among the many projects Al-Makura has provided for the people of the two local government areas that make up the federal constituency.
He said while 32 poles were installed in Lafia, Obi town and other communities benefited from the rest.
“Up till this moment the people of his constituency are benefitting from his interventions in health, education, portable water among others years after he left office,” he explained.
He said the people of the constituency will benefit more from his large heart if he emerged as their representative at the lower chamber of the National Assembly again come 2023.
