Lamido(jnr) promises to declare State of emergency against unemployment

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa State, Dr Mustapha Sule Lamido has promised to declare a state of emergency on unemployment when elected in 2023.
Deputy director, media and publicity, of Santuraki Campaign Directorat (SCD) Umar Kiyari Madamuwa in a statement that was made available to the National Update quoted Lamido to have indicated, “Yesterday I promised the teeming youths and women of Jigawa State that the PDP will declare a state of emergency against unemployment if elected.

“”The most recent statistics released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics placed our poverty level at over 84% making us the 4th poorest state in the country.
He said, it is his intention to provide skill-based education and develop the agricultural and ICT sectors to solve the problem.
“We will Insha Allah introduce the Graduates Internship Programme to give fresh graduates the necessary experience to compete in the labour market.

“I call on our youths and women who are the major victims of unemployment to give us the necessary support for us to succeed.”

The PDP candidate who described himself as the bridge between the youth and the elders said, his government will reserve 35% of it’s appointments for youth and women.
Mustapha Lamido said he was prepared to tackle all the problems militating against women development head on as he urged women and youth to double their political enlightenment campaign efforts as the campaign has commenced in earnest.

The gvernor in the waiting also said, his government will reactivate the Dutse International Airport to create job opportunities for teeming unemployed youths and to also improve the internally generated revenue for the state.
