2023: No PDP member decamped to APC in Jigawa -party’s secretary
**Says resort to propaganda by APC will not save it from imminent defeat
By Ahmed Rufa’i Dutse
The Jigawa State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic party (PDP) has debunked media reports that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state recieved PDP members at Illirowa in Buji local government area of the state.
This was contained in a press statement that was made available to newsmen by the party’s secretary, Alhaji Isa Bello Gwadayi in Dutse
Gwadayi said, resort to propaganda can not safe the APC from the wrath of aggrieved Nigerians, “The reports are not true, no PDP member decamped to any political party in the area”.
The PDP secretary who is an indigene of Buji local government area said he resides in the area adding that there is no village with the name Illirowa in the Local Government”.
He explained further that “Such thing never happened in Buji local government area. This is just a figment of the APC’s imagination”.
According to him “Ordinarily, I would not have responded to this reckless false and deceitful report from the jittery APC, but in order to put the record straight in this political season for Nigerians to be aware of the true position of things. Buji local government area is still a stronghold of the PDP”.
He alleged that non of the leaders from the area elected or appointed including the APC member representing Buji at the Jigawa State House of Assembly, commissioner of finance and the local government council chairman have been able to influence any developmental project to the Local Government in seven years and six months of the APC’s administration.
“All Promises made by APC have failed woefully, they have failed to fulfill any of their campaign promises of fighting corruption, tackling insecurity and fixing the Economy and fuel subsidy”.
Gwadayi added that “All Nigerians are living witnesses to what is happening between APC government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) where academic activities in the universities were paralyzed for eight months, current fuel and aviation fuel scarcity and high cost of living
“Having not met with the high expectations of Nigerians, many are disappointed with the APC hence the party is forced to adopt propaganda and lies to deceive the people again thinking they can win the hearts of Nigerians, but unfortunately it is too late”.
Gwadayi disclosed further that APC is already scared stiff that PDP will clinch victory from the presidency to the governorship down to the State Assembly seats.
