The newly appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Plateau State, Dr Oliver Tersoo Agundu has assumed office

He was received by the management and staff of the commission, led by the administrative secretary, Mrs. Caroline Okpe at the state headquarters as they pledged their unalloyed cooperation towards the realization of his mandate in the state.

Agundu charged members of staff to discharge their duties with utmost integrity and in compliance with the Nigerian Constitution, Electoral Act and other relevant laws guiding their conduct.

He charged to maintain the good image of the commission by avoiding anything that will put them on the spotlight negatively.

He noted that Nigerians are proud of INEC, more politically aware and ready to participate in the electoral process in order to define their future for good hence the need for the staff to work hard to give the people a credible election for the sake of posterity.

The REC received handover notes and briefings from the administrative secretary, who before his arrival, had been the acting Resident Electoral Commissioner

You will recall that Dr Oliver Agundu, who hails from Benue state was sworn in on 3rd November, 2022 along with 18 others after which he was posted to Plateau state.
