    Jigawa Police vows to ensure Peace, Stability reign in 2023 Election.

    The new Jigawa state commissioner of police, Mr. Effiom Emanual Ekot has vowed to ensrure maintainance of peace and stability especially during campaigns and other political activities in the forthcoming general elections.

    The commissioner spoke during his familiarisation visit to the correspondents’ chapel secretariat in Dutse.
    He said “the police would collaborate with sister security agencies to maintained the existing peace in the state.

    Mr. Ekot expressed the need for political parties and candidates to honour the peace accord they signed for peaceful campaigns and all other election activities.

    He called on politicians to abide by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) guidelines and other rules and regulation for peaceful conduct of campaigns and other election activities.

    According to the commissioner, journalists are critical stakeholders in establishing and promoting peace and security in the society.

    He noted that, he visited to their secretariat is aimed at strengthening the cordial working relationship existing between them and the command as he was briefed when he assume office.

    Mr. Ekot urged the members of the chapel to keep up with their good work and also maintain their good working relationship with the police especially in the critical time of campaign and other election activities for sustaining peace and stability which Jigawa state is known for.

    In his response the chairman of the correspondent chapel Comrade Muhammad Zangina stated that the cordial relationship between the working journalists in the state and police and other security agencies has contributed immensely in making Jigawa state one of the must peaceful state in Nigeria.

    He said, the relationship between the Chapel members and the police is beyond story writing but included sharing useful I formation and mutual engagement in any issue of security interest.

    Comrade Zangina expressed appreciation on behalf of the chapel members to the CP over his visit which he described as a great honour and a milestone in strengthing the cordial relationship existing between the duo.

    The Chapel chairman promised to continue collaborating with the new CP, in the area of promoting public consciousnesses on security and also play their expected role in supporting peaceful political campaign at the forthcoming 2023 general election.
