Afe Babalola University confers doctorate degrees on Segun Oni, Makinde, others

Former Ekiti State governor and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the last Ekiti Governorship Election, Chief Segun Oni will be honoured an honorary doctorate by the management of Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), on Fiday October 21, 2022

The award of the doctorate degree is part of the program of activities lined up for the university’s 12th anniversary and 10th convocation ceremonies.

According to a press statement made available by the Coordinating Chairman of Chief Segun Oni’s friends, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, ABUAD management in a letter to Oni said, “The conferment is in appreciation of the nationalistic role Chief Segun Oni played in getting ABUAD to be sited in Ekiti State”.

The ABUAD management also adduced other reasons for considering Oni for the award saying, “Your being considered for this prized award is predicated on your track record as a renowned supporter of quality and functional education, the hallmark of what ABUAD stands for.”

The management again continued eulogising Oni saying, “Indeed, your monumental achievement and profound impact on humanity cannot at any point in time be wished away for which the world will continue to applaud you.”
