The serving senator Muhammad Sabo Nakudu who contested unopposed in the primary election scored all the 375 votes caste by the delegates from seven local government areas of the senatorial district in the state.

Announcing the result the chairman electoral committee from (APC) national secretariat, Engineer Shehu Umar Dange said the exercise was peaceful and orderly.

Engineer Dange commended the delegates, local organising committee and the party officials for their support and contribution.

The fresh primary election was accasioned by the death of the candidate of the party’s senatorial candidate, late Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya in China after a brief illness.

Senator Nakudu had contested for the State gubernatorial position but lost to the serving deputy governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi Danmodi a situation that led to his alleged attempt to dump the party for New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to contest for governorship position but was blocked by one Aminu Ibrahim Ringim.

Nakudu is serving his second term representing the senatorial district and now taking his third shot if he wins under the platform of the APC.
