***Asks Parents to evacuate their wards

Fear has gripped the Federal Government after threats by terrorists to attack Federal Government owned Colleges, following which the Federal Ministry of Education ordered the immediate closure of Federal Government Colleges.

The directive on Monday said, parents should get to all Federal Government Colleges and evacuate their wards across the Federal Capital Territory.

The Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Bem Goong issued the directive on Monday in Abuja.

He said, there was rising insecurity which has become a serious threat to the wellbeing of the vulnerable children in particular, hence, the closure was the best way to go now.

It is not yet clear if other Federal Government Colleges in FCT would follow the directive, after the Federal Government College Kwali closed down the institution.
