Jigawa Assembly okays Sankara’s Appointment as Commissioner

The Jigawa State House of Assembly has given approval for governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar of the state to go ahead and appoint his senior special Adviser on new media Alhaji Auwal Danladi Sankara as commissioner.
Until his nomination sankara was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on new media.
The house gave the approval after screening the nominee during a special sitting held at the chamber presided over by the speaker, Honourable Idris Garba Kareka.

At the special sitting, the speaker read the letter sent by the Jigawa state governor Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar requesting the lawmakers’ approval for him to appoint Sankara as commissioner.
The letter reads, “Sankara is a seasoned administrator with years of experience serving the state for seven years”.

While delivering his speech, Auwal Sankara promised not to disappoint the governor who nominated him, the honorable house, and the people of Jigawa under whose mandate the All Progressives Congress APC has been governing them.

According to him, he has been serving the state for the last seven years under the leadership of Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar since 2015. “I was the Special Assistant to the Governor on New media and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media in the second administration.”

The Governor appointed Special Assistants and Special Adviserls, however, Auwal Danladi Sankara is the only person to be nominated for the position of commissioner.
