Jigawa needs new, committed gov that will turn around its fortunes, says PDP guber candidate, Lamido

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate for Jigawa State Mustapha Sule Lamido has declared that Jigawa needs someone new who is committed to the development of the state and its people.

Mustapha Lamido who said he is that new and committed person assured the emir that PDP will conduct itself in an orderly, respectful and peaceful manner, during all its campaigns.
In continuation of his consultation visit to traditional rulers in the State, he had paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Kazaure Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu to seek his royal blessings.


According to him, the party will not only be urbane, but calm and issue-based in all its political campaigns.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate promised to, uplift the standard of the state by cooperating and liaising with the traditional institutions if elected.
He indicated that the traditional institutions are an integral part of their religion, culture and history. Lamido (jnr) who also holds the title of Santuraki Dutse said he believes in the wisdom and counsel of traditional rulers for him to succeed.


He said the counsel and prayers from the Royal Fathers have reinforced is commitment to the shared vision of a greater Jigawa state.
Lamido, also indicated that, his administration will do everything possible to move the state forward.

“Jigawa is what our grandparents had, it’s the land cherished by our fathers, we the children must love and develop it
The PDP Governorship candidate presented himself and other candidates vying for other elective positions under the PDP for formal introduction to the Emir of Kazaure Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu.
The Governorship candidate was accompanied by two Senatorial candidates including the former Governor of Jigawa state Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, his Deputy Governorship candidate Babandi Ibrahim and other party stalwarts
In his reaction, his royal highness first word, after praising Allah, is “Santuraki is my son” and by his speech he confirmed that he is my son and he relieved me like his father so no need fir him to say anything more than what he has said.”
The emir said I am not receiving you as my guest, but receiving my own (you have come home)

The emir of Kazaure thanked God for bringing everyone to the season of politics adding that usually it is the season of fear and trauma however he said seeing the calibre of people in his entourage and listening to the PDP candidate’s speech made him to be calm, feel relieved that there is still hope of sanity and positive expectations
The Emir who appreciated the visit reminded politicians that it is God who gives power, and gives it to whom he so wish and the time he so wish.
His Highness urged the people to be faithful, God fearing, law abiding, peace loving people and be brothers keepers.

According to the emir what still gives him hope in the candidacy of Santuraki is when he remembered what has happened to Jigawa in the past, hoping that such would be replicated again.

The emir also appealed for women inclusion adding that they need to be carried along especially in contest and winning of elective positions as lawmakers where they will be part of law or policy making especially in public fund appropriation and child protection, welfare and wellbeing.
He gave example of issues that have to do with orphans and widows where women are experts adding that those issues tally with Santuraki’s attitude of caring for the orphans, widows and the Persons With Disabilities
