At last Atiku names Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate

Former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has settled for Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.

Atiku who made the disclosure Thursday afternoon at the PDP national headquarters in Abuja said one of the considerations for Okowa’s choice was his suitability to succeed him after his tenure in office if eventually elected as president.
The announcement has put to rest speculations on would be running mate.
“I am delighted to announce Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all,” Atiku was quoted to have said.

The former VP also took to his Twitter account to confirm the development.

He wrote, “I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria. -AA”
