Muhammed Waziri Abdulkadir emerges NBA chairman of Minna Branch

Mohammed Waziri Abdulkadir has won the Chairmanship position of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA) Minna Branch.
Announcing the result of the election, the returning officer who is also the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr.Eleri Otahagwa declared Mohammed Waziri Abdulkadir as the winner of the election with 148 votes to defeat his closest contender Ibrahim Muhammed Ndamitso who polled 89 votes.
He also declared Muhammed Saghir Chado as the vice- chairman having scored 147 votes to defeat his opponent Mr. Daniel Othuke Omakor who scored 84 polls.
Those return unopposed according to the electoral committee chairman include, Sheikh Shehu Abdullahi as secretary, Achanya Deborah Excel as assistant secretary, Zubairu Abdulkadir Shehu Treasurer, Rosemary Umaru as the Financial secretary and Abdulshekur Muhammed Isah as the Publicity secretary.
Others are, Gladys Aghogho Okpomor, welfare secretary, Suleiman Ibrahim as the social secretary and the post of provost went to Egbonodje Ogaga Emmanuel.
According to him,
“A total of 400 eligible lawyers were registered to cast their votes but 246 lawyers cast their votes with 8 invalid votes.”
The election which was conducted at the Minna judiciary complex headquarters at the weekend, witessed the large turn out of legal practitioners from Bida and Kontagora that made up the Minna branch of the Power bar.
Addressing Journalists shortly after the election, the newly elected chairman Abdulkadir thanked his colleagues for giving him their mandate to pilot the leadership of the Minna branch of the NBA in the next two years.
He assured them of his administration’s preparedness to give priority to their welfare and improve their wellbeing through the provision of the needed welfare packages that will positively impact on them.
He noted that the Minna ranch of the Nigerian Bar Association, is faced with many challenges that needed urgent attention that will be collectively summounted, “But with your usual support and cooperation we will also collectively overcome the the challenges facing the Minna branch of NBA”
The newly elected NBA chairman holds LLM (Masters in Law) from the University of Ilorin, 2016, LLB from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 2009 after which he went to law school and was called to Bar in 2010.
His experience cut across the academia and law practice as a lecturer at the Federal Politechnic Bida, Niger State and as principal manager from 2013 till date at B. Waziri & co, chambers
He was secretary of the NBA Minna branch Between 2018-2020
