***When you bribe your own party members to become candidate, you don’t have people

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Adewole Adebayo has challenged the youths to wake up from their slumber by taking their destiny in their own hands to rescue the country from what he called political Governmental Orphanage.

Adebayo spoke after an event where he served as chairman and Keynote speaker at a flag off and book launch tagged ‘Eneconomics’ at the Cyprian Ekwensi center for arts and culture in Abuja on Thursday

“What I meant is that in Nigeria we are in an atmosphere of governmental orphanage.

“Those who are responsible for the affairs of Nigeria for leadership, for proper governance, for provision of security and welfare have absconded from their duties. “So Nigerians are like the children of a wealthy family that have lost their parents and their caretakers are looting the resources without any care for the beneficiaries. Or a company that is under a hostile takeover.

“What I am saying to the Nigerian youths is that it is not enough to be angry, to complain but you must take ownership because those who are in government today, those before them and those who are planning to come now are coming to loot your resources they are not going to give you even the nearest services that anyone with reasonable competence can give.”

He advised the youths on three things they should do to find solution to their problems themselves.

“You must act collectively to be active in the economy and you must take control of the politics to put people like you who can think like, who loves the country.

“You must put them in position of authority and 2023 is an opportunity to do so and that is the reason why I am preaching to the young people to stop complaining to the government, stop complaining to the politicians, be the government and be the politician.

“That is what the youth can do now. Take control like an orphan will do. He becomes prematurely mature and come and take control of his own destiny.

When reminded that he is contesting for presidency with no structure on ground for his ambition, and whether he is not concerned?

He said,

“We didn’t want to use the structure that they used because that structure is corrupted and you could see that structure. When a political party is doing its convention, it’s entire structure will come to a location, what  they are doing, they use stolen money to bribe that structure to vote for them so they have no structure.

“If you can not become a presidential candidate of APC or PDP without paying thousands of dollars to the member of your own party, that means you don’t have people in your own party who believe in you so they only have stolen money with which they are creating criminal network.

He said rather, they have decided to make the people of Nigeria theur structure, adding that anybody who is running away from bandits, who is hungry, homeless, jobless is his structure.

“Our structure is in the people. Anyone who wants a better life for his child is our structure. There is no political party in Nigeria that contains 1℅ of Nigerian people. Even the largest political party doesn’t have 1% of Nigerians all the records are with INEC.

“So every political party is a minority so we are trying to ride on the majority by making their problem our problem and they become our structure

“There are about 186,000 polling units, every voter in that polling unit is our structure and anyone that has a PVC is our structure so it is not about stealing a lot of money or calling those who have stollen it to come and help you build people who are going to help you snatch ballot boxes.

The author of the book Enejoh James Said Success is not a respecter of location but the amount of stress you put is determined by the location.

“So I believe anywhere it is possible even if it is not conducive”
