Former Igalamela/Adolu local Government chairman Comrade Zakari Umar(Zakito) who emerged winner in Sunday’s Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), primary election for Igalamela- Odolu Constituency in Kogi State, has promised to be committed to programmes that will better the living standards of the people if elected.

Comrade Zakito spoke at Ajaka, headquarters of the Local Government after his declaration as winner of the primary election.
According to him he had always elevated the interest of his people above personal gains since his foray into partisan politics even as a former Chairman of the Council or as a Labour leader in the Local Government.

The PDP House of Assembly candidate maintained he is in the race to make change the narratives.

According to him, some of the laudable projects embarked upon by his administration as Council Chairman still remained among the legacy projects in the Local Government till date.

“I’m well positioned to serve my people given my political trajectory. I am into this contest because am capable, accessible, experienced, friendly and a grassroots politician”.

Comrade Zakito said youth and women empowerment would be his priority adding that he will deploy his vast political connections to attract development to every part of the Local Government if given the opportunity to represent the Constituency.

He described primary election that has brought him on board as transparent and orderly, saying the delegates have taken the right decision by reposing their confidence in him to serve as the Party’s candidate for the House of Assembly election.

Comrade Zakito expressed utmost gratitude to all the delegates and stakeholders for setting the pace in rancour free exercise.
He urged them to join hands to work for the victory of the Party’s candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
