Employees at eHealth Africa (eHA) have ranked the organisation high on employee conditions, workplace culture, and policies recognizing it as one of the rewarding places to work where people can unlock their potentials in a diverse and inclusive workplace.
The workers certified eHA officially as one of the best organizations to work for in Nigeria in 2022.
eHealth Africa has been striving to create an equitable working environment that promotes fairness and opportunities for all its over 500 staff working across its project offices and has worked with its partners since 2010 to strengthen healthcare systems by implementing programs in
its key focus areas.
Juliet Odogwu, Executive Director of eHealth Africa responded to the recognition by saying that the organisation is very proud to receive the certification.
“The contribution of every one of our valued employees demonstrates our strong collaborative culture. This recognition also gives us the drive and motivation to continue doing what we have been doing and keep raising the bar.
“We will continue our efforts to make
eHealth Africa the best place to work and our mission is to build stronger health systems in Africa.”
Explaining further, she said, as an organization, eHA has more women at its senior management level adding that it is working to see a balance in the ratio of women to men at all levels of its workforce.
“To achieve this, the leadership of
the organization designed some early career programs to help young female graduates start and
build their careers.
“One of these initiatives was an all-women cohort of the eHA Academy geared toward helping young women start their careers in software and web development, and an all-female paid internship cohort that exposed graduates to the organization’s values, and mission,
and better prepare them for full-time employment opportunities.”
Also responding to the recognition, eHA’s Chief Financial Officer and Senior Director of Administration, Zahir Baloum said that the award is only recognizes eHA’s dedication to creating a strong culture and an excellent work environment for its employees.
According to him, the eHA management team has prioritized
employee satisfaction and growth for the past 4 years.
“We believe this has a significant impact on employee attitudes about their jobs, coworkers, and organisation, enhancing productivity and mental health.
Results from the assessment, show that over 90% of eHealth Africa’s employees perceive the
organisation as a great place to work, feel a sense of value and respect in the workplace, and would
recommend the organisation as an employer.
